Jaidev Unadkat was born on 18 October 1991 in Porbandar, India. He is a left arm fast bowler who played for India in the U-19 world cup in New Zealand in 2010. He plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL and made his first class debut for India A v West Indies A at Leicester in June 2010. With Zaheer Kahn crying off injured at the last moment, Unadkat made his test debut versus South Africa in the 1st Test (16 Dec 2010 at Centurion).
