Imran Tahir was born on March 27, 1979 in Lahore, Punjab.
He is an attacking leg spinner who played his cricket initially in his native Pakistan before moving to South Africa.
After having qualified to represent South Africa in Jan 2011, he was immediately picked in their world cup squad to bolster the spin attack. He made his ODI debut against the West Indies at Delhi in the opening game of the world cup - he took 4-41.
