Colin de Grandhomme was born on 22 July 1986 in Harare. After making his way through junior Zimbabwe teams, he migrated to NZ in 2006.
He made his mark as a big hitter playing for Auckland and broke through to a T20 international callup by NZ against his former Zimbabwe team mates in Auckland, Feb 2012.
de Grandhomme replaced James Neesham and made his Test debut against Pakistan in the 1st Test in Christchurch in Nov 2016. He made an immediate impact by taking 6 wickets in the first innings - a record haul for a NZ debutant.
