Temba Bavuma was born on 17 May 1990 at Cape Town.

He is a technically correct right handed batsman who became the first black specialist batsman picked for South African when he made his Test debut against West Indies in 2014 where he made 10.

He made the first Test century by a black man for South Africa. This feat was against England in the 2nd Test in 2016 when he made 102 not out.
