Australia tamed the Windies spin twins - Ramadhin and Valentine - to win the 1951/52 Test series.
The series was billed as the "World Championship of cricket", with both countries having beaten England in the previous 18 months.
The West Indies team was captained by John Goddard and the home team was led by Lindsay Hassett.
The series was a disappointment with Australia winning fairly easily by four matches to one.
