Jansen knocks over SL for 233 run win: 1st Test, Day 4 (Durban)

Left arm paceman Marco Jansen took match figures of 11-86 as South Africa crushed Sri Lanka by 233 runs in the opening Test at Kingsmead.

Chasing a target of 516, Sri Lanka resumed at 103/5. Dinesh Chandimal and Dhananjaya de Silva compiled half-centuries, forging a 95-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Jansen took 4-73 as the Lankans were routed for 282 as the tourists lost their last four wickets for 11 runs.

South Africa move up 2 places to second in the World Test Championship standings and wins in their final three Tests would secure a place in June's final.

South Africa 191 (Bavuma 70, Asitha 3-44, Kumara 3-70) and 366 for 5 dec (Stubbs 122, Bavuma 113) beat Sri Lanka 42 (Jansen 7-13) and 282 (Chandimal 83, Dhananjaya 59, Jansen 4-73) by 233 runs.
