South Africa pip Pakistan in dramatic win despite Abbas six: 1st Test, Day 4 (Centurion)

Mohammad Abbas turned the game on its head with a sensational 6-54 that brought Pakistan roaring back but South Africa found away to seal a dramatic 2 wicket win at Centurion.

Chasing 148 for victory, the Proteas fell from 96-4 to 99-8, including the loss of three wickets for no runs in four balls.

But Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada pulled off a gritty win with a fifty run stand for the 9th wicket.

The win keeps South Africa top of the Test Championship table and ensures they will contest the final for the first time.

South Africa 301 (Markram 89, Bosch 81*, Shahzad 3-75, Naseem 3-92) and 150 for 8 (Bavuma 40, Abbas 6-54) beat Pakistan 211 (Ghulam 54, Paterson 5-61, Bosch 4-63) and 237 (Shakeel 84, Babar 50, Jansen 6-52) by two wickets.
