Rickelton double century pounds Pakistan: 2nd Test, Day 2 (Cape Town)

Ryan Rickelton scored a double century as South Africa seized control on day two against Pakistan at Newlands.

Resuming their innings at 316-4, South Africa continued their march to a big total as Ryan Rickelton (259) and Kyle Verreynne (100) built a commanding partnership of 148 for the 6th wicket.

Rickelton, who started the day 176 not out with the hosts 316-4, posted another 83. His 259 was the 7th highest score by a South African batsman.

Pakistan ended the second day 64-3, with former captain Babar Azam unbeaten on 31.

Pakistan 64 for 3 (Babar 31*, Ghulam 12, Rabada 2-9) trail South Africa 615 (Rickelton 259, Verreynne 100, Jansen 62, Abbas 3-94) by 551 runs.
