South Africa romp into WTC final with series win: 2nd Test, Day 4 (Cape Town)

Led by a superb 145 from captain Shan Masood, Pakistan fought hard in the second innings, ultimately setting a new record of 478 on South African soil.

Pakistan's total was the first time a visiting team has crossed the total of 400 while following on in South Africa.

Chasing 58, Markram and Bedingham slammed 44 off just 30 balls to take South Africa home in 7.1 overs.

The 2-0 series win confirmed that South Africa would finish top of the World Test Championship (WTC) table for the 2023-25 cycle.

South Africa 615 (Rickelton, Bavuma 106, Verreynne 100, Abbas 3-94) and 61 for no loss (Bedingham 47*) beat Pakistan 194 (Babar 58, Rabada 3-55) and 478 (Masood 145, Babar 81, Rabada 3-115) by ten wickets.
