India crush England after Arshdeep, Abhishek show: 1st T20 (Eden Gardens)

Opener Abhishek Sharma was the star as India beat England by seven wickets at Eden Gardens in the first T20I to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.

Skipper Jos Buttler played a lone hand with 68 from 44 balls but Harry Brook was the next highest scorer with 17 as England were bowled out for 132. Arshdeep Singh took 2-17 in his 4 overs.

In reply, Abhishek smashed 79 in 34 balls as India romped to a seven-wicket victory with 43 balls to spare.
