Kuhnemann strikes has Australia on brink of win over SL: 2nd Test, Day 3 (Galle)

Spinner Matt Kuhnemann took 4 wickets to put Australia within sight of a clean sweep over Sri Lanka at Galle in the 2nd Test.

Veteran Angelo Mathews (76) and Kusal Mendis (48no) put on a defiant 70-run stand that gave Sri Lanka the lead, before Lyon (3-80) broke the all-important partnership. At stumps, Sri Lanka were 211-8, just 54 runs ahead with only two wickets in hand.

Earlier, Australia were knocked over quickly with off-spinner Prabath Jayasuriya (5-151) dismissing Alex Carey (156) and Steve Smith (131) as the tourists lost 7-84 before lunch.

Sri Lanka 257 & 211 for 8 (Mathews 76, K Mendis 48*, Kuhnemann 4-52, Lyon 3-80) lead Australia 414 (Carey 156, Smith 131, Jayasuriya 5-151) by 54 runs.
