Phillips century fires NZ to win over Pakistan: 1st ODI (Lahore)

Glenn Phillips struck his maiden ODI century and Mitchell Santner grabbed three wickets to help New Zealand crush Pakistan by 78 runs in the 1st ODI of the Tri-Series in Lahore.

Phillips smashed 106 not out from 74 balls, with seven sixes and six fours to help the tourists post a massive 330-6. He was supported by Daryl Mitchell with 81 and Kane Williamson with 58. Shaheen Shah Afridi ended up with expensive figures of 3-88.

In reply, opener Zaman hit 84 in 69 balls but Pakistan lost early wickets. Salman Agha (40) and Tayyab Tahir (30) added 53 for the fifth wicket but the hosts fell short by 78 runs.

New Zealand 330 for 6 (Phillips 106*, Mitchell 81, Williamson 58, Afridi 3-88) beat Pakistan 252 all out (Fakhar 84, Santner 3-41) by 78 runs.
