Babar keeps Pakistan hopes alive with NZ win: 2019 WC #33 (Edgbaston)

Babar Azam struck a superb century as Pakistan kept their hopes of a World Cup semi-final place alive with a six-wicket victory over New Zealand.

Babar’s 101 saw Pakistan home after they overhauled the Kiwis 237-6 with ease.

Earlier, paceman Shaheen Afridi (3-28) ripped through New Zealand's top order. All rounder Jimmy Neesham's unbeaten 97 and Colin de Grandhomme (64) rescue job had given New Zealand a chance on a slow pitch.

Pakistan 241 for 4 (Babar 101*, Sohail 68) beat New Zealand 237 for 6 (Neesham 97*, de Grandhomme 64, Shaheen Afridi 3-28) by six wickets.
