Abhishek’s blazing 74 dominates Pakistan: 2025 Asia Cup S4 No 2 (Dubai)

Abhishek Sharma struck a rapid fifty as India defeated Pakistan by six wickets in a close 2025 Asia Cup Super Four clash in Dubai.

Pakistan posted a competitive 171 for 5 after a strong powerplay led by Sahibzada Farhan’s fluent half-century. India’s bowlers clawed back in the middle overs to restrict the late surge as Pakistan's middle order got inexplicably bogged down.

Chasing 172, India’s openers Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill set the tone with a blistering 89-run stand, Sharma smashing 74 off just 39 balls to seize early control. Despite a brief wobble, Tilak Varma and Sanju Samson guided India home with seven balls to spare, strengthening their path to the final and leaving Pakistan needing victories in their remaining matches to stay alive in the tournament.

India 174 for 4 (Abhishek 74, Gill 47, Tilak 30*, Rauf 2-26) beat Pakistan 171 for 5 (Farhan 58, Dube 2-33) by six wickets.
