Emotional farewell by Virat and Rohit as India secure win: 3rd ODI (SCG)

Veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli gave a masterclass as India ended the ODI series on a high with a commanding nine-wicket win over Australia in the 3rd ODI at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

After being sent in to bat, Australia were dismissed for 236 in 46.4 overs, with Matt Renshaw top-scoring on 56 and Harshit Rana leading India’s bowling attack with 4 for 39.

In reply, India cruised to 237 for 1 in just 38.3 overs thanks to a superb unbeaten century from captain Rohit Sharma (121 not out) and a fluent 74 not out from Virat Kohli, their 168-run stand sealing the victory.

Although Australia had already secured the series 2-1, India’s dominant performance was a fitting response, highlighted by clinical bowling and an emotional batting display from their senior stars at what may have been their final ODI appearance in Australia.

India 237 for 1 (Rohit 121*, Kohli 74*) beat Australia 236 (Renshaw 56, Rana 4-39) by nine wickets.
