Babar Azam breaks record, seals Pakistan win over South Africa: 2nd T20 (Lahore)

Babar Azam overtook Rohit Sharma's record of most T20 runs (4,231) as Pakistan produced a commanding performance to level the three-match T20I series 1–1 with a comprehensive nine-wicket win over South Africa at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Batting first, South Africa struggled against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack and were bundled out for 110 in 19.2 overs. Only Reeza Hendricks (28) and David Miller (25) offered resistance as wickets fell regularly. Pakistan’s bowlers shared the spoils, with Shaheen Afridi (3/18), Haris Rauf (2/21) and Shadab Khan (2/15) starring in an excellent collective effort.

In reply, Pakistan cruised to victory at 112/1 in 13.1 overs, powered by Babar Azam’s unbeaten 56 off 41 balls and Mohammad Rizwan’s 44 off 33 in a 101-run opening stand. Pakistan sealed the match comfortably, setting up a thrilling decider in the final T20I.
