Salman ton lifts Pakistan to narrow win over SL: 1st ODI (Rawalpindi)

In the 1st ODI at Rawalpindi, Pakistan clinched a tense 6-run victory over Sri Lanka to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

After being sent in to bat, Pakistan recovered from early trouble through a composed and fluent unbeaten 105 from Salman Agha, supported by Hussain Talat’s steady 62. Mohammad Nawaz added late fireworks with an unbeaten 36 from 23 balls, propelling Pakistan to a competitive 299/5.

Sri Lanka’s chase started brightly with Pathum Nissanka (29) and Kamil Mishara (38) adding 85 for the opening stand, but Haris Rauf’s fiery spell of 4 wickets dented their momentum. Wanindu Hasaranga fought bravely with a counterattacking 59 off 52 balls, yet Sri Lanka were restricted to 293/9 in their 50 overs — just short of the target.
