Preview: High stakes, high scoring final as NZ look to dethrone India

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup final pits India against New Zealand in what shapes as a fascinating clash between explosive batting depth and clinical tournament execution as Anil Kumble and Faf du Plessis preview the final.

India arrive after a high-scoring semi-final win over England in which Sanju Samson’s attacking form headlined a batting lineup capable of posting daunting totals. With power hitters through the middle order and experienced bowlers such as Jasprit Bumrah controlling the death overs, India have the firepower to dominate if they start strongly.

New Zealand, however, have been one of the most efficient sides in the tournament and stormed into the final after a ruthless dismantling of South Africa. Their charge has been led by the explosive hitting of Finn Allen, whose record-breaking semi-final century showcased the Black Caps’ fearless approach at the top.

With support from experienced players and a disciplined bowling unit, New Zealand will back themselves to upset India by applying early pressure and maintaining their aggressive tempo in what promises to be a high-stakes, high-scoring final.
