Lennox triggers Windies collapse as NZ strike back: 2nd ODI (Providence )

Left arm spinner Jayden Lennox was the star as New Zealand levelled the ODI series against West Indies at 1-1 with a dominant five-wicket victory in the second match in Providence, Guyana.

After winning the toss and bowling first, the Black Caps’ attack dismantled the West Indies batting line-up for just 138, with Lennox producing a career-best spell of 5 for 19.

The hosts struggled to build partnerships, with New Zealand’s bowlers applying relentless pressure and taking regular wickets throughout the innings.

Chasing a modest target, New Zealand were briefly tested after losing early wickets but captain Tom Latham provided the composure needed to complete a comfortable victory.

The visitors reached 139 for 5 with more than 17 overs remaining, securing a comprehensive win and setting up a competitive three-match run-in to the series.

Lennox’s match-winning bowling performance was the highlight, while New Zealand’s disciplined all-round effort marked a strong response after their opening ODI defeat.

New Zealand 141 for 5 (Latham 37*) beat West Indies 138 (Campbell 43, Lennox 5-19) by five wickets.
