NZ pip Windies in last over win despite Hope century: 2nd ODI (Napier)

Shai Hope smashed a century but New Zealand sealed the ODI series with a narrow five-wicket win over West Indies in a rain-shortened 2nd ODI at Napier.

Batting first in a 34-over rain reduced match, the Windies posted 247/9 thanks largely to a superb century from Shai Hope, who also crossed 6000 ODI runs in the innings.

But New Zealand’s chase was calm and clinical, led by Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra, who set the platform before the hosts eased to 248/5 in 33.3 overs to take an unassailable 2–0 lead in the series.

New Zealand 248 for 5 (Conway 90, Ravindra 56, Santner 34*) beat West Indies 247 for 9 (Hope 109*, Smith 4-42, Jamieson 3-44) by five wickets.
