Virendra Sehwag India's offspinner in the absence of Harbhajan Singh spun out Michael Hussey 53 with the close in sight as he took 3-66 to pull the game back for India.

Earlier Matthew Hayden 83 and Ricky Ponting 87 weighed in with important knocks as Australia reached 338-4.
