First ever test: Aussies beat Lankans (Kandy, 1983)
Australia won its firstever Test against Sri Lanka. Keppler Wessels scored 141 and David Hookes 143 not out laid the foundation for a score of 5144 declared.
In response the Lankans could only muster 271 and 205. Only Arjuna Ranatunga 90 and Sidath Wettimuny 96 could muster any defiance in each innings.
