Smith breaks hand as Clarke strokes ton: 3rd Test, Day 2 (SCG)
Michael Clarke stroked a fine 138, his 10th test century and he put on 142 runs with Mitchell Johnson 64 as the Australians totalled 445.
South Africa responded with 125-1. Graeme Smith retired hurt with a broken hand that will keep him out for six weeks. Hashim Amla 30 and Jacques Kallis 36 batted with confidence to post 49 runs at stumps.
