1970/71: Illy regains the Ashes with Snow

Ray Illingworth led England to a 2–0 win in Australia mainly because of John Snow's fast bowling while Geoffrey Boycott and John Edrich scored most runs.

Originally a six Test series an extra match was added after the third Test was abandoned without a ball bowled.

The Australian captain Bill Lawry was sacked after the sixth Test the selectors having lost patience with Australia's lack of success and dour strategy.
