Marsh holds off Lankan fightback, Aussies in final (Under 19 World Cup)

Australian captain Mitchell Marsh 97 and 3 catches played a starring role to ensure his team will meet Pakistan in the Under 19 Cricket World Cup final after a tense 2wicket defeat of Sri Lanka.

The Lankans made a strong fightback after early setbacks to post 205 which was built around knocks of 52 from allrounder Akshu Fernando and Kithuruwan Vithanage 40.

Pace bowler Josh Hazlewood did the early damage to take four for 26. In reply Australia were also in trouble at 93 for five before West Australian Marsh and keeper Tom Triffitt 50 put on 78 runs.

The Lankans were not done and applied massive pressure at the death as Australia toppled over the line.
