Watson leads crushing win over Windies: 1st ODI (MCG)

Australia cruised to a 113 run win over the West Indies in the series opener.

The early loss of big hitting Chirs Gayle took the fight out of the Windies. Only a a 64 run stand between Kieron Pollard 31 and Lendl Simmons 29 gave West Indies some respectability as the tourists were all out for 143 in 34.2 overs.

Earlier Keiron Pollard 3-45 applied the brakes after Watson's 59 at the top but Mike Hussey 28 from 25 balls and Johnson 21 from 20 took Australia to 256-8.
