New low: Ugly Ponting cracks, confronts umpires, gets fined (MCG)

An unseemly flashpoint as Ricky Ponting jabbed his finger and debated furiously with Umpires Aleem Dar - and his colleague Tony Hill.

With another Ashes series seemingly slipping from Australia’s grasp Ponting displayed anger at length with Aleem Dar's explanation of a turned down review of an appeal against Kevin Pietersen for caught behind. Ponting was fined 40% of his match fee.
