Sangakkara throws in towel as captain of Sri Lanka

Sri Lankan captain Kumar Sangakkara has announced that he will be stepping down as captain of the Sri Lanka cricket team. The 33-year-old said that his decision to step down was made prior to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 final loss to India. In ODI's under Sangakkara, Sri Lanka have won 27 and lost 14 of their 45 ODIs. Apr 2011
