Sanga in controversy as Lankans take honours: 1st Test, Day 1 (Cardiff)

Sri Lanka made a strong start to the opening Test after showers delayed play.

New skipper Tillakaratne Dilshan (50) and Tharanga Paranavitana (58 not out) made light of testing conditions with an opening stand of 93, a record for Sri Lanka in England.

Late wickets for Graeme Swann and James Anderson pulled England back into the game as the tourists finished on 133-2.
