Tremlett and Swann sink Lankans for 82 in incredible finish: 1st Test, Day 2 (Cardiff)

In a match result that raises the eyebrows, England secured one of the most remarkable wins in Test cricket history as  Sri Lanka collapsed in a heap to an innings and 14 runs defeat.

Sri Lanka were skittled out for just 82 in their second innings on a good batting pitch in sunny conditions that did not offer much movement nor spin. Paceman Chris Tremlett took the first three wickets to finish with 4-40 and off-spinner Graeme Swann 4-16.

England declared at 496 for 5 dec (Trott 203, Cook 133, Bell 103*) to beat Sri Lanka 400 (P Jayawardene 112, Paranavitana 66, Anderson 3-66, Swann 3-78) and 82 (Swann 4-16, Tremlett 4-40) by an innings and 14 runs.
