NZ whitewash Pakistan after Sears five: 3rd ODI (Bay Oval)

Paceman Ben Sears inspired New Zealand to a crushing win over Pakistan in the third and final one-day international by 43 runs to sweep the series 3-0.

A 69-run partnership brewed between Babar and Abdullah Shafique gave Pakistan some hope. But Sears took 5-34 to bowl out the visitors for 221.

Earlier, opener Mariu posted a composed 58 off 61 balls (six fours and two sixes). Skipper Michael Bracewell struck 59 at the death as the Black Caps scored 264-8 in the rain impacted 42 overs.

New Zealand 264 for 8 (Bracewell 59, Mariu 58, Mitchell 43, Akif 4-62, Naseem 2-54) beat Pakistan 221 (Babar 50, Sears 5-34, Duffy 2-40) by 43 runs.
