Defiant Srinivasan asked to stay away from BCCI

Ever since the spot fixing scandal broke out, Mr. Srinivasan has been under intense pressure to resign. But BCCI chief Srinivasan continues to remain defiant and has refused to quit in view of the IPL scandal.

Srinivasan has reiterated that the BCCI probe panel will remain independent. "I will not reply to individual member reactions. I will remain away from the commission. What Rajeev Shukla has said, I said in Kolkata - it will remain an independent commission. I have nothing to do with the commission and it is independent."

This came even as the Sports Ministry said that the BCCI President should tender his resignation on moral grounds. In a statement on Wednesday, the Sports Ministry said, "As there is a conflict of interest in this inquiry, therefore BCCI President should tender his resignation on moral grounds, pending the outcome of the inquiry."
