Stuart Broad blatantly nicked a delivery to first slip but chose not to walk.

Broad (47 not out) and Ian Bell (95 not out) put the hosts' in control of the first Test at Trent Bridge, compiling a 108-run partnership to grow their side's lead to 261 runs over Australia.
