Amla century defies Pakistan: 1st Test, Day 1 (Abu Dhabi)

Hashim Amla stroked his 20th Test century but 34-year-old debutant Zulfiqar Babar was the star as he restricted South Africa to 245 for eight.

Amla was unbeaten on 118 with left-arm spinner Babar taking 3 for 89 and paceman Mohammad Irfan taking 2 for 42.

South Africa 245 for 8 (Amla 118*, Duminy 57, Babar 3-89) v Pakistan.
