Shafiq ton puts Pakistan ahead: 1st Test, Day 4 (Galle)

Asad Shafiq’s 7th Test hundred (131) put Pakistan in command after he and Sarfraz Ahmed (96) dominated after resuming the day on a shaky 118-5.

A 101-run stand for the ninth wicket between Shafiq and Zulfiqar Babar (56) embarrased Sri Lanka as the visitors took a 117 run lead.

Sri Lanka 300 and 63 for 2 (Karunaratne 36*) trail Pakistan 417 (Shafiq 131, Sarfraz 96, Zulfiqar 56, Dilruwan 4-122) by 54 runs.
