Sri Lanka made a paltry 117 in 34 overs after winning the toss. Australia will resume on 66-2 in reply where 12 wickets tumbled in two sessions on day one.

Steve Smith (28 not out) and Usman Khawaja (25 not out) shared a crucial third-wicket stand of 59 before rain cut short play.
