After being dropped on five, Virat Kohli smashed 154 not out to guide India to a 2-1 series lead over New Zealand. Kohli and captain MS Dhoni (80 off 91 balls) took command with a 151 run stand, winning with 10 balls to spare.
Earlier, NZ went from 151-2 to 199-8 after another middle order collapse before Jimmy Neesham (57 off 47) and Matt Henry (39 not out off 37) added 84 to take them to 285 all out.
India 289 for 3 (Kohli 154*, Dhoni 80) beat New Zealand 285 (Latham 61, Neesham 57, Jadhav 3-29) by seven wickets.
