Rohit, spinners deliver thrilling win over NZ: 2025 CT No 15 Final IND v NZL (Dubai)

Skipper Rohit Sharma top scored as India won the Champions Trophy after an absorbing final with New Zealand in Dubai.

Rohit (76 from 83 balls) launched a brutal assault during the Powerplay. After a mid innings stutter, wicketkeeper KL Rahul (33* from 32 balls) sealed the win with six balls to spare.

Earlier, the Black Caps posted 252-7 after spinners Varun Chakaravarthy (2-45) and Kuldeep Yadav (2-40) applied the brakes on the top order. Daryl Mitchell anchored New Zealand’s innings with a patient half-century before all-rounder Bracewell smashed a 39-ball fifty at the end.

India 254 for 6 (Rohit 76, Iyer 48, Rahul 34*, Bracewell 2-28) beat New Zealand 251 for 7 (Mitchell 63, Bracewell 53, Kuldeep 2-40, Varun 2-45) by four wickets.
