Debut knock: Sachin scores his first Test runs (Karachi)

16 year old Sachin Tendulkar made his Test debut for India against Pakistan on November 15, 1989 at National Stadium, Karachi.

Batting at No 6, Tendulkar walked in for his debut with India in deep trouble at 41/4 in reply to Pakistan’s first innings total of 409.

Facing a quality attack of Imran, Wasim and Waqar, Tendulkar scored 15 from 24 balls with two boundaries. He was bowled by Waqar Younis who was also on debut.
