Gavaskar on SL series whitewash: India has become ruthless (Kandy)

Sunil Gavaskar gave full marks to the Indian cricket team for a clean sweep over Sri Lanka in the three-match Test series.

India outclassed the hosts by an innings and 171 runs to earn their first 3-0 series sweep overseas. "India wanted to win by a big margin always and the fact that in the second and the third Tests they enforced the follow-on and won by an innings in both the occasions, that tells you how ruthless the team has become," Gavaskar said.

"The spirit of the team is good, they are playing positive cricket. The attitude and the determination Virat Kohli has brought to the Indian team is commendable. Full marks to the team by winning in such a comprehensive manner."
