Buttler and Bess stand rescues England: 1st Test, Day 3 (Lords)

Jos Buttler and debutant spinner Dom Bess rescued England with a century stand for the 7th wicket as England closed day three on 235-6, a slim lead of 56.

Buttler hit 66 not out and Bess made an unbeaten 55 in a stand of 125.

Earlier, England were in trouble despite 68 from captain Joe Root. A collapse of four wickets for 19 runs left England at 110-6, facing an innings defeat.

England 184 (Cook 70) and 235 for 6 (Root 68, Buttler 66*, Bess 55*) lead Pakistan 363 (Babar 68*) by 56 runs.
