Powell shines as Sri Lanka struggle: 1st Test, Day 3 (Trinidad)

A fine half-century from Kieran Powell (64 not out) put the West Indies firmly in control of the first Test as Sri Lanka were completely outplayed on day 3.

The Windies skittled out Sri Lanka for 185 with only a 78-run stand between Dinesh Chandimal and Niroshan Dickwella saving the visitors from complete embarrasment.

Powell hit an unbeaten 64 to help the home team end Day 3 at 131 for 4, leading by 360 runs.

West Indies 131 for 4 (Powell 64*, Kumara 2-28) and 414 for 8 lead Sri Lanka 185 (Chandimal 44, Cummins 3-39, Roach 2-34) by 360 runs.
