Russell blitz sinks Bangladesh: 1st T20 (St Kitts)

Allrounder Andre Russell smashed an unbeaten 35 and took 1-27 to guide the world champion West Indies to a seven-wicket win over Bangladesh.

Chasing a revised target of 91 off 11 overs after a rain delay, Russell blazed an unbeaten 35 off 21 balls to the win with 11 balls to spare.

Earlier, Mahmudullah (35) managed useful partnerships with Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim. Kesrick Williams’ career-best bowling figures of 4-26 to restrict Bangladesh to 143-9.

West Indies 93 for 3 (Russell 35*, Mustafizur 2-18) beat Bangladesh 143 for 9 (Mahmudullah 35, Williams 4-28) by seven wickets (by DLS method).
