Shaheed, Imad keep alive Pakistan in thrilling win: 2019 WC #36 (Leeds)

Imad Wasim struck 49 not out as Pakistan survived a scare to beat Afghanistan by three wickets with two balls remaining.

Chasing 228 for victory, Pakistan fell to 81-3 and 156-6 as Afghanistan turned the screw and, with 48 needed from 36 balls, it looked out of Pakistan's hands.

Imad and Wahab Riaz held their nerve, with Wahab striking the first six and Imad hitting a boundary to seal victory.

Earlier, Afghanistan struggled to 227-9 with Afghan 42, Najibullah 42 the main contributors. Shaheen Shah Afridi took 4-47.

Pakistan 230 for 7 (Imad 49*, Babar 45, Nabi 2-23, Mujeeb 2-34) beat Afghanistan 227 for 9 (Asghar 42, Najibullah 42, Afridi 4-47, Wahab 2-29) by three wickets.
