Santner, Watling hammer England: 1st Test, Day 4 (Bay Oval)

England were in trouble against New Zealand after Mitchell Santner hit his maiden Test century and BJ Watling scored a superb double century to take the game away.

Watling made 205 and Santner hit 126 as they combined for a stand of 261 for the seventh wicket.

Trailing by 262, England were 55-3 after Santner’s spin made inroads.

England 353 and 55 for 3 (Denly 7*) trail New Zealand 615 for 9 declared (Watling 205, Santner 126, de Grandhomme 65, Williamson 51) by 207 runs.
