Crawley, Buttler in record triple ton stand: 3rd Test, Day 2 (Southampton)

Veteran paceman Jimmy Anderson took 3 quick wickets late in the day to floor a dispirited Pakistan and put England on top.

Earlier, 22 year old Zak Crawley notched a massive maiden Test century - 267 - to became the third-youngest England player to make a double century, trailing Len Hutton and David Gower.

Crawley and Jos Buttler (152) led the way with a record stand of 359 as England reached 8-583 declared. This was England's highest ever stand for the 5th wicket and 10th biggest of all time.

Anderson then reduced Pakistan to 3-24 in the 10 overs of play remaining before stumps.

Pakistan 24 for 3 (Anderson 3-13) trail England 583 for 8 declared (Crawley 267, Buttler 152) by 559 runs.
