Siraj shines as India shock England in thriller: 2nd Test, Day 5 (Lords)

Young paceman Mohammad Siraj was the star as England crumbled to a shock 151-run defeat in the second Test against India.

England scented victory after an hour of play but was then set an improbable 272 to win in 60 overs courtesy of a unexpected unbroken ninth-wicket stand of 89 from Mohammed Shami (56) and Jasprit Bumrah (34), before crumbling to 120 all out in response.

Buttler defended vainly as England got to the last hour of play. Siraj had Buttler caught behind and bowled Anderson with a beauty, the pace bowler setting off on a sprint to begin the celebrations of a famous India victory.

India 364 (Rahul 129, Rohit 83, Anderson 5-62) & 298 for 8 dec. (Rahane 61, Shami 56*, Wood 3-51) beat England 391 (Root 180*, Bairstow 57, Siraj 4-94) & 120 (Root 33, Siraj 4-32, Bumrah 3-33) by 151 runs.
