Avishka century powers win over South Africa: 1st ODI (RPS)
Opener Avishka Fernando smashed 118 to set up Sri Lanka's 14-run win over South Africa.
Avishka put on 79 with Dhananjaya de Silva (44) with the partnership briefly interrupted by a rain delay. Charith Asalanka (72) added useful runs at the end.
Chasing 300, South Africa fell short on 286-6 despite opener Aiden Markram's 96 off 90 balls and a run-a-ball 59 by Rassie van der Dussen.
Sri Lanka 300 for 9 (Avishka 118, Asalanka 72, Maharaj 2-30) beat South Africa 286 for 6 (Markram 96, van der Dussen 59, Dananjaya 2-65) by 14 runs.
