Thakur, Pant setup stiff chase for England: 4th Test, Day 4 (Oval)

All four results are possible after a day of fluctuating fortunes left the 4th Test on a knife edge.

England reached 71 for no loss and need another 291 runs on the final day after Haseeb Hameed and Rory Burns fought back for England.

India had earlier rallied from 312-6 in their second innings, Shardul Thakur batted patiently for 60 and Rishabh Pant was similarly careful in his 50 as they shared a seventh-wicket partnership of 100. On a placid pitch, the tourists were eventually bowled out for 466.

England 290 and 77 for 0 (Hameed 43*, Burns 31*) need 291 more runs to beat India 191 and 466 (Rohit 127, Pujara 61, Thakur 60, Pant 50, Woakes 3-83).
