Imperious Charles inspires 3-0 sweep over Proteas: 3rd T20 (Kingston)

Opener Johnson Charles inspired the West Indies to a comprehensive eight-wicket win over South Africa and a 3-0 series whitewash.

Player of the Series Gudakesh Motie (two for 21), Obed McCoy (three for 39) and Shamar Joseph (two for 26) restricted South Africa to 163-7. Only acting captain Rassie van der Dussen (51 from 31 balls) and Wiaan Mulder (36 from 28 balls) stood firm with a 77-run partnership for the fifth wicket.

In reply, Charles smashed 69 off 26 balls and put on 92 for the first wicket with stand-in skipper Brandon King (44) to put the game beyond South Africa.

West Indies 165 for 2 (Charles 69, King 44, Mayers 36*, Peter 1-27) beat South Africa 163 for 7 (van dur Dussen 51, McCoy 3-39, Motie 2-21) by eight wickets.
